Cash stuffing means putting your spending money for each category, like groceries, gas or fun, into its own envelope. When an envelope is empty, that category is done for the month.

This sheet tracks eight envelopes. Write the category and budget on each, then log every purchase and the balance left, so you always know what is in each envelope without counting it.

How it works

Cash stuffing means putting each spending category’s money in its own envelope. This tracker has eight envelope cards: write the category and budget, then log each purchase and the balance left. When the balance hits zero, that category is done for the month.

How to use it

  1. Name each envelope and write how much you put in.
  2. Each time you spend from one, write the amount and what is left.
  3. At the end of the month, move leftovers to savings or roll them over.

Ways to use it

  • Cashless: use bank "pockets" or separate accounts and track them the same way.
  • Weekly envelopes: split groceries into four weekly envelopes.
  • Sinking-fund envelopes: gifts, car and travel.

Tips

  • Start with the categories where you tend to overspend, like groceries and eating out.
  • You can use the same tracker with separate bank accounts or app "pockets" instead of cash.
